9:20 Special Summer Lindy Grab Bag!
For the months of June, July, & August at 9:20 Special we'll be living up to our name and offering some very special things indeed! Each week a different pair of featured instructors will teach the Intermediate class at 7:20pm and a Special Extensions class at 8:20pm, giving you lots of different experiences and something special to keep coming back for all summer long! July's Intermediate topic is Lindy & Charleston Variations and each couple will present their own take on this topic.
Drop-ins are welcome in Special Extensions all four weeks, just make sure you are comfortable with the class' level as listed below.
Teaching Couples / Special Extension Class Topics are:
August 5th - Jean Ma & Bromley Palomountain
Classic Lindy Patterns: With inspiration from the amazing innovators of Lindy, we will be teaching some awesome, classic Lindy patterns from back in the day.
August 12th - Karen Turman & Andrew Thigpen
The Revenge of Partner Charleston: Bouncing, kicking, sweating--that's just the beginning. Partner Charleston is back, with a vengeance! We'll throw some new variations at you while simultaneously refining your awesomeness for those janky New Orleans-style tunes.
August 19th - Yon Richner & Manu Smith
Social Lindy 2.0: Social dancing is what makes Lindy fun and interactive. We will teach you a few of our favorite social dancing moves. You will also learn tips on how to communicate with your partner so you can become an even better social dancer!
August 26th - Kelli Wilkerson & Matt Richey
Adding and Subtracting Rhythms!: We'll give some spice to your simple moves by changing out some rhythms. We will add and subtract footwork, speed and body movement for your dancing pleasure.(Level:Int/Adv)
Cost: $50 for the series (four 1 hour group classes) / $15 drop-in at the door (all four weeks). Includes dance admission.
